wasser fast.. got any suggestions?

Being a mommy in Graz means that if you’re pushing a stroller, you can’t also hold an umbrella – actually you can if you can steer the stroller with one hand and not jab it into any healthy street beggars or heels attached to grumpy old people. If the stroller is wet, filled with baby, groceries, purse and it’s being pushed up-hill on a cobble-stone street (Sporgasse) the manuvering just darn impossible to do single handedly.

I’ve been searching in all the stores (H&M, Charles Voegele, New York) to find a jacket that is water-proof and no such luck. Any ideas from fellow readers and Grazers where one such perfect jacket/coat could be found?

Coming from California (the land of the dry and golden landscapes), one does not invest too much in rain gear. I did invest in a cheap feather a coat with a hood (for the supposed snow), and apperently it’s not water proof. Not only that, I showed-up at the corporate offices of Raiffeisen Bank in Jackominiplatz, yesterday, to run an errand and the gentelman used every bone of politeness in his body to NOT say, “Excuse me, but you smell like a wet chicken past it’s prime that needs to be hung out to dry.”

You know the smell!

So please, help my wardrobe and the olfactory glands of those around me. Click on the “comments” button and let me know where I can find something waterproof — even a large plastic poncho with a hood will do!

You could go for the “rugged outdoor” look and check the sports stores — hiking gear is usually waterproof.

The store named “Gummi Neger” in the Annenstra├če has a lot of waterproof-clothing.
