Vincent Rijmen is a Belgian cryptographer and one of the designers of the Rijndael [1], the Advanced Encryption Standard. Rijmen is also the co-designer of the WHIRLPOOL [2] cryptographic hash function [3], and the block ciphers Anubis [4], KHAZAD [5], Square [6], NOEKEON [7] and SHARK [8].

From 2001-2003, Rijmen was a visiting professor at Graz University of Technology. Since October 2004, Rijmen is a full professor at Graz University of Technology.
