Vincent Rijmen is a Belgian cryptographer and one of the designers of the Rijndael ^[1], the Advanced Encryption Standard. Rijmen is also the co-designer of the WHIRLPOOL ^[2] cryptographic hash function ^[3], and the block ciphers Anubis ^[4], KHAZAD ^[5], Square ^[6], NOEKEON ^[7] and SHARK ^[8].

From 2001-2003, Rijmen was a visiting professor at Graz University of Technology. Since October 2004, Rijmen is a full professor at Graz University of Technology.
