Alle bestehenden Diplom-Studien werden bis spätestens 2009/2010 auf das Bachelor- und Master-System umgestellt. „Industrial Design” sowie „Informationsdesign” mit den bestehenden Master-Programmen werden in Kapfenberg zu einem neuen „Design-Cluster” zusammengeführt, auch um der Region neue Impulse zu geben.

It is the “Neue Technik” the new part of the technical university. The stairs always reminds me on the Odessa Steps in the famous scene of “The Battleship Potemkin” where the masacre takes place.

I’m not always thinking on this scene whene I look out of the window. Sometimes I just have the fear that the building will explode. You have to know that it is the Institute for chemistry and from time to time you can see light in some rooms over night. I can’t help but I imagine a nutty professor experimenting with hyper dangerous liquids. booooommmmm……….

When the thoughts turn to paranoia I just look out on the other side of the window and I am calm again :)

TV-Kommissarinnen en masse (und en detail). Weibliche Action-Heroinnen. Female Terminators. Femmes fatales nicht nur französischer Provenienz. Kurz: das Weibliche zieht uns in nie geahnter Weise medial hinan. Ob sich die Hardcore-Fraktionen des Feminismus diese Form der Emanzipation vorgestellt haben, sei einmal dahingestellt. Jedenfalls aber scheint sich das „andere Geschlecht” – abgesehen von Diskussionen über das Fehlen von Diskussionen bezüglich der Geschlechtsspezifik Angela Merkels – in nie zuvor stattgehabter Dominanz in den Medien und also auch im Kino platziert zu haben.

Wie aber, in welcher Form „beherrscht” das Weibliche tatsächlich das Kino der Gegenwart – vor und hinter der Kamera? Der Medienverein MacGuffin und das Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino versucht eine filmische Antwort, oder besser: einige filmische Antwortmöglichkeiten darauf zu geben. In modifizierter Form, will heißen: kompakterer Form, bieten die MIDNIGHT MOVIES 06 – neben dem gewohnt abseitig-bizarren Ausflügen in das Kino zwischen den Kadern – mit dem diesjährigen Untertitel TOUCHED BY WOMEN, einen kleinen, aber prägnanten Überblick über die Palette der Repräsentationsformen des Weiblichen im Gegenwartskino: Von den männliche Muster praktizierenden „Heldinnen” des asiatischen Films über die (mehr oder weniger) selbstbewussten „Femmes Normales” des sogenannten bürgerlichen Qualitätskinos bis zu Radikalentwürfen postfeministischer Prägung im Independentkino.
